Ruaha River Lodge is set on the banks of the magnificent Ruaha River. It is part of the Foxes Safari Camps portfolio. Relax on the deck and take in the panoramic views that unfold in front of you. Ruaha National Park is very rich in wildlife. The lodge’s rugged beauty is reflected in the simplicity of its architecture and its surroundings. Ruaha River Lodge is constructed of stone and thatch and uses its natural surroundings to create a unique ambiance.

How to get there
Ruaha River Lodge is accessible by road and air. Various small airlines operate here. You would need to land at the Msembe Airstrip.

Accommodation at Ruaha River Lodge is in bandas which are constructed of stone and thatch (makuti). There are a total of 24 chalets all located along the river bank. All room s have protective mosquito gauze on the windows. The chalets are spacious with each chalet having a veranda that faces the river front, with large seating area, bedroom with twin or double beds, a writing desk, a large bathroom which has a shower, double sinks and toilet. Water is heated by solar power. There is a banda that is located close to the main lodge that is suitable for persons with disabilities.

The Lodge
The main lodge areas are located in separate locations which offer differing perspectives. There is one dining area near the river which is the perfect place to have breakfast while watching the wildlife coming to the water’s edge to take a drink, relax on a sofa or sit by the fire pit. The second area is perched on a kopje (rocky outcrop) it offers commanding views over the river bend and is fantastic for sundowners. The bar is located at this high location. Meals at Ruaha River Lodge range from full English breakfast, cold buffet lunches and a lavish three course dinner. All food is prepared fresh from locally sourced produce. Special dietary needs should be requested at the time of booking.

Fly Camping
Fly Camping is available for a minimum of two people for a minimum of two nights. Ruaha River Lodge will set up small tents in a private camp for you. They will provide a guide and a chef to take care of you.

Open all year round. However, the best time to visit is during the dry season which is from June to December.
