Mufindi Highland Lodge is a quaint and cosy lodge situated in the southern highlands on a 2000 acre estate set amongst tea plantations, rural villages and forests. It is a tranquil retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life and it is also a change from the safari experience. Mountain air, bush-land, lakes, rivers and streams are part of the experience at Mufindi Highland Lodge. You can generally relax, read a book, and explore the surroundings. There are spectacular panoramic views across the valley. The materials used in constructing this lodge are all locally sourced.
Mufindi Highland Lodge can be reached by road and air. The nearest airstrip to the lodge is currently at Ngwasi which is an hour away, but the lodge is constructing its own airstrip. The farm is located at Maganga.
Mufindi Highland Lodge has a total of 10 log cabins. All the cabins are well spaced on the property. The in room facilities include: double or twin beds, en suite bathrooms with hot water – bath/ shower, toilet, wash hand basin, 2 large bedrooms, lounge, balcony, drinking water.
There is a special Honeymoon Suite that has a built in fireplace and a similar room that is better suited to Anniversaries, but it can also accommodate children.
The Main Lodge
The Main Lodge at Mufindi Highland Lodge is constructed mainly out of stone and wood. The main lodge has a Lounge, Library, Fireplace and Dining Room. The cosy atmosphere here is conducive to relaxation. The dining room provides fresh meals daily. Most of the food is sourced from the organic farm. The farm provides the meat, diary and vegetables that are consumed at the lodge. The main lodge has an upper level which has additional seating areas, bar, a fireplace, tv room and billiards room. The upper level opens up onto a veranda for watching the unfolding scenes and enjoying the sunsets. Special dietary needs should be expressed at the time of booking.
Mufindi Highland Lodge operates a fully operational farm. They rear calves, piglets, foals and lambs. Children are allowed to help feed the young farm animals. The produce grown includes onions, lettuces, and cabbages. Fruits are strawberries and mountain pawpaws.

Mufindi Highland Lodge is open all year round. The weather is favorable between May to December. The weather is rainy from February through to May. June to July are generally quite cold.
Foxes Safari Camp has its own NGO that is geared towards developing local communities and protecting wildlife.
