Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is the only lodge within Lake Manyara National Park. The towering escarpment of the Great Rift Valley is a breathtaking backdrop. The privacy of the location ensures near exclusivity of game drives in the southern section of Lake Manyara National Park. The Park is famous for its tree-climbing lions, and 350 species of birds make for good bird watching, thus offering a great diversity of habitats. Open 4×4 safari vehicles are available. Sundowners and lakeshore picnics too.
A number of scheduled airline services operate a twice-daily scheduled flight from Arusha Airport and Coastal Air operates daily flights from Dar Es Salaam – both to Lake Manyara airstrip, followed by a scenic 2 1/2 hour leisurely game drive to the lodge through the National Park.
Ten elegant stilted tree houses are cradled in the boughs of mahogany trees, ensuring privacy for all guests. Built of timber and ‘makuti’ (palm fronds), the interiors are bleached, earthy and stylishly understated. Rooms are spacious with sitting areas and viewing decks. Each room has en suite bathrooms with a bath, outdoor shower, twin hand basins and private w.c. telephone, hairdryer
Public areas are intimate and stylish, and feature an interactive kitchen. The sitting and dining areas overlook a charming forest ‘boma’ lined with ‘ngalawas’ (dugout canoes). The Lodge has a Safari Shop featuring signature community craft-work and a range of lodge branded safari clothing.
