On a long stretch of Lake Tanganyika’s golden sandy shores, beneath the magnificent Mahale Mountains, lies the newly refurbished Kungwe Beach Lodge. Kungwe Beach Lodge is the perfect place to wind down and reflect on the wonders of your day. The lodge is situated between Kasiha and Sinsiba streams and is built with comfort and luxury in mind.

The camp consists of 10 spacious and luxurious tents.

The rooms are fitted tents under thatched roof on a raised wooden platform and the in room facilities include: four poster bed with mosquito net, bedside tables, Luggage rack and Dressing table with chair, En-suite bathroom with shower, basin on a wooden fitted cupboard, flush toilet, Hot and Cold running water throughout the day, Bath consumables and Bathrobes, Bottled water and Drinking glasses, Safe, Power point for charging of electrical equipment, and deck chairs and coffee table.

Lounge and Dining
Kungwe Beach Lodge has a combined Lounge and Dinging area constructed from hardwood under a thatched roof. In the evenings, candlelit dinners are served either in the unique dining area or on the beach to the sounds of an uninterrupted cacophony of beetles, crickets and birds and the calls of Chimpanzees in the forest. International cuisine on offer. Buffet Lunches, barbeque dinners on the beach, packed lunches for trekking and more. Special dietary needs catered for with advance notice.

Child Policy
Children under the age of 12years are not permitted on Chimpanzee trekking. All Children under the age of 12years at the Lodge, should be accompanied by a supervising adult at all times. No Baby Sitting Services available.

Important Information
Masks to be worn at all times whilst viewing Chimpanzees (provided by the Lodge). No persons with any type of flu-like or any infections disease will be permitted on Chimpanzee trekking. A Certain level of fitness or ability to hike fairly long distances is recommended.
