Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp (&beyond) is a luxury tented camp which lies in the path of the migration, which typically occurs between June and July. The camp’s location gives full advantage to clients who can see the resident game all year round, the Grumeti River  with its gigantic crocodiles, Birdlife abounds and birders almost always exceed their expectations of sighting targets, the ever-present family of hippos in the river fronting the camp, and view troops of black and white colobus monkeys that cannot be seen elsewhere in the Serengeti. The distance between the rooms is 20 metres to ensure tranquility and privacy.

Location
&Beyond’s, Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp is set in the western corridor of Serengeti National Park. The western corridor has a major role in the annual migration of the wildebeest.

Access
There are daily scheduled flights from Arusha Airport to Grumeti airstrip. From the airstrip you will be transferred by road to the camp. (Approximately 5-10 minutes)

Accommodation
Ten flamboyant tents under ‘makuti’ (palm frond) canopies. The tents have twin beds that can be converted to Double beds. Triples rooms are available. Each of the spacious tents has a furnished deck and en suite bathroom. In room facilities include: overhead fan, local sculptured funishing, vibrant colours, wash hand basin, separate outdoor shower open to the stars, separate w.c., hairdryer and in room safe. There are no mosquito nets because all tents are sealed.

Guest Areas
The guest areas of this intimate camp include open-fronted sitting and dining areas, a lounge area and domed bar. The interior design is colorful and funky with unusual beaded artifacts. The spacious decks are perfect for sundowners overlooking the river. A dramatic ‘boma’ ensures star-studded romantic dinners. The meals served at the camp are Pan African. The camp has a rim-flow pool perched on the banks of the river where guests can view hippo at play. The Safari Shop is located at the entrance of the camp.

Children:
Children are welcome although children 5 years and younger cannot participate in the regular game-drives. Child minders can be booked at an additional cost. Children aged 6 to 11 years are accommodated on game-drives at the lodge manager’s discretion. An extra bed can be arranged for a child 16 years and younger sharing their parents’ tent. No more than two triples in camp at any one time.

Best time to travel:
There is excellent game viewing throughout the year. The best time to see the migration at Grumeti is June and July. These months fall in the dry season.
