Set on 60 acres of privately owned land, on a lush hill overlooking the stunning Serengeti and the Lobo Valley, stands Buffalo Luxury Camp. It is a warm and cosy permanent tented camp. The location, 5 kilometers from Klein’s Gate, enables guests to experience the land and wildlife in a more intimate way possible only outside the invisible boundary of the Serengeti National Park. Buffalo Luxury Camp is under the management of Intimate Places.
Buffalo Luxury Camp has 15 tents. All the tents are luxurious, and spacious with en-suite facilities. Each tent has its own private seating area, Writing desk, bedroom with brushed aluminum-frame beds, comforter, down pillows, wardrobe with robes and slippers. The en suite bathroom has a soaking tub, shower, double vanity, hair dryer, toiletries, bottled water and oversized towels.
All the tents are spaced far enough apart for privacy with verandahs overlooking the Lobo Valley.
Buffalo Luxury Camp has a comfortable lodge that houses the bar, art room, lounge and dining room along with an outdoor fire pit on the terrace. Enjoy the delicious food along with their gracious hospitality. Special dietary needs can be accommodated with prior notice.
Conservation and Community
Conservation is of utmost importance. You will have plenty of hot water, 24-hours of electricity and all the luxuries you expect while eco-friendly measures are incorporated into your stay.
Buffalo Luxury Camp is dedicated to employee well being and supporting the local community. The camp boutique is operated on behalf of a group of 15 Maasai women hailing from several different communities that make up the nearby village of Ololosokwan. The women are widowed or single mothers and entirely dependent upon the income they are able to generate from the crafts they sell in the boutique. Each woman’s photograph and life story is attached to her crafts for sale. Arrangements can be made for guests to meet these women should there be an interest.
